Magedomas supporting the community

The Brockville Magedomas Old Timers Hockey Club would like to thank our sponsors and participants for their kind and generous donations to our 2nd annual, hockey tournament that ran March 19th and 20th, 2024.
Our 2nd annual tournament hosted 8 teams of skaters 60 yrs+ from Brockville, Kemptville, Westport, Morrisburg, Kingston and Shawville, Quebec. In addition to the action on the ice, participants enjoyed connecting over food and drinks at our local Memorial Center.
The two charities that we selected for this years event were the Brockville General Hospital Beds campaign, which focuses on replacing outdated beds and improving patient experiences in the hospital, and the Weekenders Program for Kids (WP4K), whose focus is providing meals for close to 400 kids in 22 schools in our region every weekend who would otherwise go without.
Through the generous donations from our sponsors, as well as funds collected through tournament fees and raffles, we are proud to announce that we split over $6000 in raised funds between the two charities!!
We’re thrilled at what we’ve been able to accomplish in the short history of the tournament and couldn’t have made it happen without our sponsors, tournament participants and all the volunteers that generously donated their time. We are grateful beyond words!!
Pictured are the cheque presentations to the Weekenders for Kids and Brockville District Hospital Foundation recipients!
We're looking forward to another great event in 2025!!

2024 Dry land training

Preparation is underway for yet another year of Magedoma hockey!! The boys, led by coach Emma, braved the mosquitos and goose "contributions" to prep for the season opener. Several evenings of dry land training led to stronger bodies and the discovery of muscles we didn't even know we had....ouch!! Is it supposed to hurt when I breathe???
A Magedoma first! The inaugural Magedomas HockeyFest!! 2023

Established 1904, the Magedoma hockey club is the city’s longest active sports club name in the history of Brockville. This years event raised over $2500 for the Brockville General Hospital.

Seasons Greetings 2023

Thanks to Brockville's Butcher Shop for their support and to Berge, Deano and the kitchen gang for cooking things up! Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas spirit 2023

The Magedoma hockey league is a proud supporter of the Brockville Food Bank. Pictured is our ageless Brian McCarthy presenting a $1000 donation to the Director of the Food Bank for their 2023 Christmas campaign. Giving back to the community is a core value of the Magedoma hockey league.
How much wood can a Magedoma chuck?

Whether it's on the ice, on the links or in the woods....the Magedoma gang is always ready to put in a good days work! Seen here are the boys pretending to be lumberjacks and working up a thirst as they help clear out unsightly Ash...and any other tree that got in our way :0)

Magedomas on the links

They say the gang that plays together, stays together...winter or summer! Here are the boys of summer enjoying a little time on the links...and in the clubhouse . Truth be told, the game is no prettier on the greens than it is on the ice...but damn, they look good!! And a big thumbs up to the marketing team for getting a ship to pass by for this pic :0)

Magedomas on TV!

In preparation for the inaugural Brockville Magedomas Old Timers hockey tournament being held at the Brockville Memorial Center March 22 & 23rd, 2023, two of our wily Magedoma veterans joined Hometown TV12 to discuss the team and the tournament. Click here to see the video clip of the conversation with Doreen Barnes, Brian McCarthy and Dave Paul. Well done gents!
Remembering Hugh Murray

The Magedomas mourn the passing of one of our own, Hugh Murray. Hugh passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 60 years of age. Hugh was a lifelong athlete and proud family man. He loved to travel Canada and the US to play both baseball and hockey and made many friends doing so. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. Hugh will be greatly missed.
Christmas 2022

Great fun was had by all in attendance for the 2022 Christmas luncheon. It was a great opportunity for us all to get together and enjoy great food as we relived our spectacular on ice performance!
Thanks to Santa Duke for spearheading the event and to all the others who helped out and contributed food items. Once again, Luna's grub was outstanding.
Merry Christmas to all and we'll see you on the ice in 2023!
